Travis Maurer
Travis G. Maurer is an award-winning digital content storyteller with more than 25 years of experience in broadcast and digital media. He currently serves as Senior Digital Content Creator at FOX 5 Atlanta.
Before joining FOX 5 in 2010, Travis made a brief stop across town at WXIA-TV, where his work covering the historic 2009 Atlanta flood earned an Emmy Award. He also earned a nomination for his leading coverage on the night of the 2008 Atlanta tornado.
His career journey began in his home state of Florida at SNN6 in Sarasota, an innovative newsroom that was among the first to embrace digital storytelling. There, Travis covered major events, including the 2000 presidential election and President George W. Bush’s visit on Sept. 11, 2001.
During his time in Florida, he covered more hurricanes than he can count, including Hurricane Charley, a powerful storm that destroyed his hometown. That experience demonstrated the importance and impact of local news. While at ABC-7 and NBC-2 in Fort Myers, Travis earned an Edward R. Murrow Award for best website.
